all age, all ability community gardening

       The Triangle Community Garden, Hitchin

created and cultivated by people of all ages and abilities at Ransom's Rec, Grove Road, Hitchin

  Volunteer Activities

Triangle Garden activities centre on gardening, creativity and the natural environment. They take place once a month usually (but not always) on the last Sunday from 10am till 2pm (or 1pm in winter),  and are open to anyone in the local community including accompanied children. Have a look at our programme to see what’s on next.

To join in: For general volunteer days, community gardening or tidy up sessions, just turn up on the day.

Come in old clothes appropriate for the season, and suitable footwear.

We advise you to bring your own gardening gloves, especially for children, so that they fit well and allow the wearer to use the tools provided safely and comfortably. We do have a selection of gloves for general use if you don't have your own.

A waterproof may be occasionally needed and sunscreen is essential when working outside from March to October. It's a good idea also to protect your head and neck from the sun in hot weather.

We provide tools, guidance, hot and cold drinks, biscuits, first aid support and a friendly atmosphere. Please bring a packed lunch if the session runs till 2pm.
