‘Planning your veg plot’ Course Ref: G3 Earlybird discount available until August 28th 2010!

Covering: soil health, rotation, different requirements of different vegetables and how to plant in succession to achieve a continuously productive plot and avoid everything being ready to harvest when you’re about to go on holiday!

Discover the nocturnal secrets of these fascinating creatures with bat expert Roger Havard and his sonic bat detectors

6.15-7.15pm outdoors in Ransoms Rec. Meet at Ransoms Pavilion, Alexandra Road, Hitchin SG5 1RB

Cost £5 per adult, accompanied children under 12 go free (max two per adult), 12-18 year olds - £1.

Christmas Wreaths and Decorations Course Ref: CW (See Basketry flyer for images) Earlybird discount available until November 7th 2010!

Learn how to make a twisted willow wreath and intricate woven willow decorations for your tree or mantle.

Sunday 5th December Tutor: local willow artist Hazel Godfrey. Cost £40* or £45

  Design for Sustainable Living (Permaculture Design Course) - a 12 day Full Permaculture Design Course held on the third weekend of each month: starting with a choice of introductory weekend dates: either Feb 20-21 or March 20-21, then April 17-18, May 15-16, June 19-21(incl Monday) and July 17-19 (incl Monday). Permaculture is a practical design system for sustainable living, offering an ethical, creative and inspiring response to the global challenges of climate change and peak oil. Using core principles guided by nature, this course will help you identify steps for positive change for yourself, your family and your community. Tutor: Hannah Thorogood.
  Full design course to be held at a variety of local venues including the Triangle Community Garden, Trumpington Pavilion, Cambridge and the Apricot Centre for Sustainable Living, Essex. Booking has now closed for this course.
