Harvest time at the Growing Projects!

This week our Growing Health and Growing Ability projects got together to hold a harvest lunch in celebration of all the wonderful things they’ve been growing and eating over the year. The weather was glorious and friends, family, staff and volunteers were able to eat outside at tables set out beside the Pavilion.

There was a choice of soup to start: a clear harvest vegetable or creamy courgette, both made with veg grown by the gardeners on our allotment. To follow we all made our own wraps with freshly picked salad leaves, tomatoes, cucumber and beetroot, topped with hummus and feta – healthy and delicious!

Afterwards there were games outside – cards for the laid-back, cricket for those itching to be active and a game resembling skittles for those looking for something involving a lot of maths! What a lovely way to end the growing season – well done everyone involved!
