Great work from our a-mazing March volunteers!

Volunteers spent Sunday 20th March working on our living willow maze, with great results. Every year it needs ‘gapping up’ but this year more than ever, as last year our efforts were concentrated elsewhere. Here’s a little film Alan Hodgson made of our exploits:

Finding the original walls and openings was quite a challenge as some parts of the maze had become quite sparse. We used wands from willows harvested from another part of the garden, to form the new walls by pushing the butts (blunt ends) 18 inches into the ground in a criss-cross pattern. If you want to join us at one of our volunteer Sundays, have a look at our What’s On page to see when the next one is and come along!
