We are very proud of our highly capable and committed team of staff and volunteers, who carry out the Triangle Garden’s work both behind the scenes and in day-to-day running of our projects.

We currently have two vacancies:

Project Manager

We have an exciting opportunity to join Triangle Community Garden as a Project Manager. In this role you will be managing and developing all aspects of our projects; supporting our staff and volunteers; and working with our Business Development Manager to ensure our services reach as many people as possible.

Triangle Community Garden runs horticultural therapy sessions in our allotment sites and community garden in Hitchin working with people with learning disabilities and mental health issues.

Ideally you’ll have some knowledge or experience of social therapeutic horticulture and working with people with learning disabilities. You’ll need to have experience of managing people and projects and it would be beneficial if you had experience of developing services and networks with other local organisations.

· Salary: £25,500-30,000 pa FTE

· Hours: Part time position – 14 hours (Tues-Thurs when sessions are running)

Horticultural Support Worker

Triangle Community Garden runs horticultural therapy sessions in our allotment sites and community garden in Hitchin. Working with people with learning disabilities and mental health issues you will be supporting them to enjoy outdoor spaces; learn new skills; and create positive experiences. We are looking to expand our team by recruiting a new Horticultural Support Worker.

We want to hear from you if you love working with people from different backgrounds and horticulture. It would be beneficial if you have compelted the care certificate but we can give you all the training you need to be successful in this role.

· Salary: circa £11.50 ph.

· Hours: 9 hours per week over 3 sessions Weds 12.30-3.30pm, Thurs 9.00am-12 and 12.30-3.30pm)

Trustee – a voluntary role on the Board of Trustees

Our friendly active trustee group meets once every month, usually on Thursday evenings at Ransom’s Pavilion in Hitchin. We provide trustee training for new trustees. As well as steering the strategic direction of the organisation, monitoring progress and acting as a critical friend, trustees are also encourage to play an active role at our events and sit on one of our sub-committees: events, garden, personnel, finance, fundraising, publicity or premises & safety. These groups meet once every 2-3 months, except events which meets monthly. Please contact [email protected] if you’re interested in finding out more.

Events team member – a voluntary role within the events team

The events group plans and organises our community events and workshops throughout the year including our Open Day, Apple Day and our workshops and walks. We are a small friendly band who meet either on zoom or in the Radcliffe, Hitchin, on a Wednesday evening roughly once a month and have a lot of fun dreaming up ways of improving our events, raising funds and engaging new volunteers!
