Community non-profit groups are welcome to hire the Pavilion for talks and meetings.
Ransom’s Pavilion is ideal for holding practical workshops or group tutorials.
Situated overlooking Ransom’s Recreation Ground, it is also a great place for children’s parties. Bright and cheery inside, with adjustable-height tables and chairs for all ages, the main room can accomodate up to 12 children. With spacious kitchen facilities including urn and microwave, you can bring your own food and decorations. There’s plenty of outdoor space in the park to organise fun/sporty activities and if you’re worried about the weather – we hire gazebos too.
The maximum numbers the pavilion can comfortably hold are:
- 21 in an audience setting (plus presenters)
- 12 seated at tables, either around one central table or at individual ‘workstations’ (plus tutors)
- The building can hold no more than 37 people in total to comply with health and safety regulations.
Tea and coffee making facilities are available and there is a microwave and fridge, but there is no hob or oven at present. You may bring pre-prepared refreshments or we can provide them, but no food can be prepared on site.
We offer a selection of outdoor games for hire on request, and free use of our outdoor games ideas booklet, available from Spring 2015. We also hire out pop-up gazebos on request. Please enquire as to cost and availability.
Please note that the use of bouncy castles is no longer permitted for health and safety reasons.
Free parking* is available in the amenity carpark on Nightingale Road, next to the Esso garage. We kindly request that hirers and their guests use this facility and avoid parking in local roads for the convenience of our neighbours.
